Sweetest Day

For grins, Matt, Shelly, Brian and I went out to “celebrate” Sweetest Day. Really just a lame excuse to have a date, as if we needed one.

We agreed to see Kill Bill, hardly a romantic flim, but anyone who knows my sweetie Matt shouldn’t be suprised.

Now for my review on Kill Bill:

EWWWW!!!!

Seriously though, not at all the type of film I would enjoy watching. I am not a big Tarantino fan at all, which I realize makes me quite uncool, but so be it. While I can appreciate his innovative style of directing which often times results in amazing image composition, I just can’t get into the ridiculous amount of violence. Luckily, in Kill Bill, the violence is soooooo over the top that it didn’t gross me out as much as I had expected.

The score was quite ingenious.

Matt said,
“I describe it as blaxploitation/spaghetti western/tribal drums fusion.”
Of course he described it perfectly.

After the movie, we went to Seven 30 South. Everyone had a great meal except for Brian who could only rave about his side of cottage cheese. A bit of a spendy joint for four poor kids, but fun nonetheless.

    Kill Bill: Volume 1

I saw Quentin Tarantino’s fourth film (he lets you know it’s his fourth in the credits) last night. I could have seen it on the IMAX screen, but their website didn’t detail which screenings were playing where, so we went…
