Helpful Hints my Ass!
So I come home today to find out that my son was given gum and his caregiver didn’t have him spit it out before bedtime.
You guessed it. Bright green gum in his hair and partially stuck to his ear.
I am distraught for a moment but then I remember that for a wedding gift I got a helpful hints book that covers everything from how to remove water rings from the coffee table to how to repair a broken fan belt in your car using a pair of pantyhose.
I scanned for gum removal and they stated that raw egg whites will remove gum from anything including hair.
I dashed to the fridge and was relieved to find I had eggs and escorted the boy and a bowl of whites to the bath tub.
After many tears and a few choice words from me, I went to the office and got a pair of scissors.
Sigh. Luckily his hair is short and it isn’t too noticable.
I guess I could have tried a couple of other methods I have heard of but when you are dealing with a screaming toddler, the quickest method is sometimes the best.

Egg whites? That’s got to be a bad joke. I’ve always heard you should use ice.

I can tell you from experience that peanut butter works. Don’t know why, don’t want to know…

I had heard of both of those tips but since I read about this one in this book I thought it must work.
